Takayasu arteritis (TAK) is a chronic large vessel vasculitis and its etiology has not been fully elucidated. T-cell-mediated immune response is currently recognized as the main pathogenesis of TAK. At present, a variety of therapeutic drugs that have been put into clinical use have shown limitations in the treatment of TAK. Elucidating its pathogenesis is of great significance to develop new therapeutic targets. CD+8T cell is one of the main infiltrating cells in the pathological location of TAK, which also show a significantly increasing activation in TAK. It can participate in the occurrence and development of TAK by directly damaging vascular wall cells and secretion of cytokines. This paper reviews the role of CD+8T cell in the pathogenesis of TAK.
